Vivid, Scary Dream

I had a dream last night that I was in labor in one of those midwifery buildings. Anyway, there was another woman there who was also giving birth. She gave birth and had a son named Benjamin Nathan (Vivid... I know... I still remember his name!) I told the woman that I was having my third daughter in four years (which is actually still possible at this point, but that's a lot of kids very close together IMO)... I felt like I had to push, but the midwife was not around, so I gave a little push and felt down below. It didn't feel like a head, like I should find, instead I discovered that the umbilical cord had come out (cord prolapse) I was frightened and called for the midwife. On the floor was a bit of the cord, like it had broken off. I woke up scared. It was very frightening. I hope that never happens. =(

wow, scary dream Sarah! Ugh, I have a lot of vivid dreams like that, and most are scary. I pray every night now specifically about my dreams and that seems to help. I felt like I was battling a spiritual battle in my sleep so I need to pray consciously before I fell asleep.

I would love to someday do a birth with a mid-wife at a birthing center but, I think it's just too risky for baby! My friend did it and everything was great, she got to go home after 2 feedings. However, an aquantance of mine did and something that would have been "minor" and easily treated at the hospital happened at the birthing center and they couldn't deal with it. They baby died. I can't imagine living knowing if I'd only been at a hospital, my baby may have lived. I'd put up with pit falls of a hospital if it meant a baby in my arms.

I'm sorry to hear about the job thing. What a disappointment. It definatley sounds like your family doesn't need your hubby in a job like that though! I still hope/pray he can find a good job, and maybe closer to here too!

What a scary dream! I pray that it's something that you never have to experience.

I will post a picture when I know it's ok and I receive my packet. I just found out they do these "group tours" to the country your child lives in. You can meet them and spend a day with them, then spend time getting to know the country and culture! How cool is that!? It's almost $4,000 for a trip to Rwanda but I could start saving and asking for donations!!!!

Hi! Just saw you on my friends blog and popped over!
I also had a disturbing dream about birth the other night...
I was in a birthing tub and 3 babies came out. One was not fully formed, one was deformed with the brain being outside the skull, and the last one was small, with white stuff coming out of it's eyes, but okay. It was really weird and yeah, scary.

I have 3 daughters already, baby #4 in heaven and going on baby #5 now. That dream was a picture to me of my fears, especially after losing the last baby in February. I do not want fear to be my master, God only!

Nice to "meet" you!

That would be horrifying! It is one of those dreams you are so incredibly relieved to WAKE UP from, and know it wasn't real. It always makes me wonder when I have weird/scary dreams...what does that mean??

Yes, I agree...hopefully that will NEVER happen!
