Take Action on the EPIAA Bill!

Help Autism Speaks get House and Senate cosponsors for the Expanding the Promise for Individuals with Autism Act (H.R. 1881, S. 937), a bill that will provide $350 million in new money to the states to provide services for individuals with autism from childhood through adulthood.

Thanks to Chesapeake Ribbons who posted this entry on her blog! Autism awareness is very important in my heart. As many of you know, my nephew suffers from a form of low-functioning Autism.

Sarah,
Thank you for all your comments. YOu have been such and amazing encourager for me! You must, must, must tell all your friends about this book:

Healing the New childhood epidemics: Autism, ADHD, ASthma, and Allergies by: Kenneth BOck M.D.

It is amazing, I am reading it now and love it!!! He is really practical and level headed but, explores, researches, and uses treatments most doctors scoff at BUT, they WORK. He has literally seen kids recovery from each of these illness by seeing each kid as an individual, and figuring out what THEY need. I know if you check it out at a library, you will HAVE to share it with your mommy friends, especially those that have kids who suffer from any of these! My friend sees a doctor who uses much of the same techniques and has seen her son change and become healthy expotentially. Her son threw up every day for nearly 2 years and the dr. (a pediatric allergist) said it was failure to thrive. This new Dr. did a food sensitivity test that isn't recognized by most MD's, he found like 10 sensitivities, took Levi off those foods, started him on a probiotic and natural enzymes, as well as found out he has a yeast overgrowth and treated him for it. The other Dr. wouldn't even check for yeast and laughed at Levi's mom when she suggested it due to her reading. Levi hasn't thrown up in months and is now able to eat some of the foods he was taken off of because his little body isn't so unhealthy. Plus, he is WAY more active, way less passive, and talks tons more now.
